My recommendation as a dermatologist is 'scar should be treated as fast as possible' because there could be itchiness, pain and tightening feelings that

bother him a lot. removing those bothering would be my first goal.

It's a laser treatment which uses co2 laser. it takes a lots of time as it would be 5 sessions and each session needs 2 month healing period.
